Gwen Churchill received her Bachelor’s Degree in piano performance from Humboldt State University in 1979.

She has a private piano studio in Santa Rosa and teaches students of all ages. Putting a high value on the idea of developing community in her studio, she holds monthly Performance Workshops that support and develop relationships amongst her students.  The workshops also serve as a way to foster the love of music and performing.

In addition to teaching, Gwen is an active chamber musician and pianist at both Sonoma State University and Santa Rosa Junior College.  Ensemble playing is one of her favorite ways to enjoy music.

Also, she has served as accompanist for various choirs including the One Heart Choir at the Center for Spiritual Living and she is currently the accompanist for the Spirit Live Choir.  She also is the studio accompanist for two local voice studios, providing accompaniment for individual singers at recitals and for Certificate of Merit assessments.

She has been an active member of Music Teachers Association of California, Sonoma Branch for 5 years and has served on their board as Treasurer for the past 3 years.
